Everything is fine but the station is placed in a super congested lane, if anything occurs in a remote place, the fire engines first priority turns out to be get rid of traffic than planning how to tackle the situation.

Maritime academy of India provide their cadets fire fighting and fire prevention training from here. And west bengal fire services department also gives certificates to those cadets after complition of the course.

Have seen this station jumping into action many a times, under various circumstances. They obviously are doing their job, and have done so well over years. Apart from normal pros of the facility - rushing to engulf fire, the cons should also be listed, and they are : lack of more fire tenders and lack of advanced equipments and tenders. The fire fighting tools need some serious upgrading here.

This old fire station is located at the crossing of Harish Mukherjee Road and Hazra Road in South Kolkata . It has two fire engines ready to serve.One kept standby for emergency. It is in the prime location to serve at the time of crisis. The fire station is well maintained.
