Ashaniketan is the special name for the indian branches of L'Arche, founded by Jean Vanier in France. They are homes where mentally and physically challenged people are invited to live as a family with dignity. There are five such homes in India. Ashaniketan Kolkata is 45 years old. It is place with much happiness and laughter. I enjoy going there.

This is an old age home runs by May be some Christian missionary.Old people come here for solace at the last part of their life being departed from their family.Staff of this voluntary organization are very nice polite and helpful as well as careful to the old people residing here. Thanks.

It's a home for the underprivileged children, the sisters incharge are absolutely caring.
I along with my friends visited this place to organise a new year program for the kids and it was a lovely time that we had.

This home is run by the Don Bosco Fathers as part of their Ashalayam project. These are mostly children from the neighbourhood, from very poor families living on the streets, some of them orphans. The children are taught here so that they can be moved later to one of the other Ashalayams from where they can attend a school. The children are very well taken care and seem to be very happy.

Having worked here for NSS (on behalf of college), I must admit this is a very well oragnized place with sustainable management.
The children here were very nice to interact with, being well mannered and well taught.
They have decent living standards, okayish hygiene, great multilingual schools and of course, are in safe hands, which is most important.
Plus the people working at administration were amicable too, responding to any doubts or queries I had, and guided me a lot during my visits. Would love to contribute to CMO again in the future. :)
