A good initiative from the government. This place was earlier Royal Boat House or 'Vallakkadavu (വള്ളക്കടവ്)' in Malayalam. The starting point of the coastal waterway that the king used to travel in Travancore.
This Biodiversity park is said to be the first of its kind in India. Visitors are given guided interactive tour in which they are educated about the diversity of ecology and the need to preserve it.
The park definitely require some maintenance. Although less than a year old, negligence of maintenance is clearly visible.
I recommend spending a few hours with family as a good educational tour.
