I’ve been going there since I was a young kid. The shop owner, Sharda uncle, always treats me with affection. The place has a simple setup and they can bring almost anything you need. I have purchased several sweets, toffees, cold drinks, bakery items etc. from this place. It’s heartening to see uncle sitting at the desk and reading books on several occasions when I go. I try to stop by whenever I’m passing by this lane, just for the way he makes me feel good.

When I visited Golden canteen 5 years ago with my Grandfather I bought a small bottle of chilled cardamom milk from verka booth. I still remember the taste of it .
Guy at the booth was friendly. There were so many verka products like chocolates, packed rice pudding, ice cream, milk shakes etc.
Now it's surrounding area is renovated & sitting area is created.
There's an army liquor store on the flip side of the verka booth now( before it was a sitting area).
Verka booth is a good place for refreshments.
