Set up on 4th January , 1962 the school has got a hefty library with plethora of books and an well-equipped laboratory. Now an impressive building , but it was not so well-structured in its inaugural get-go. Some of the teachers conspicuously have racked up cachet as distinguished teachers in the periphery of Baharampur. With the combined effort of the teachers and the students the school has got a new dimension, and is on her burgeoning stature.

This school is the ideal place for learning if you want....if you don't want to learn then nobody can teach you!!!

A school with great heritage, magnificent alumni. Before the Government order for "first-come-first get" basis admission system, it only allowed the best students in town through the admission test to be part of the school. maintained a high academic prestige and level of teaching.
now-a-days,with the current policy, it's going downhill. Not a premiere institution anymore.

West Bengal govt aided co-ed high school up to 10+2 class. Average result of this school in board exam is moderate. Most of the students are studying here belongs to middle class, lower middle class i.e., from financially weaker section.
School has the potable water facility with toilets for boys and girls.
It has no play ground but has indoor games facilities.
The position of the school just besides with busy road,Temple and vegetable, meat market, which creates excess sound pollution during school time which hampers the concentration of the students.
